Creativity is Insanity?

When you can take one thing and join it with another, and it makes something better, you are called a GENIUS. But try and EXPLAIN this process for marketing, promotions and advertising, then you are called INSANE! Be it products, actions or people, I simply call it CREATIVE.


I have been blessed with the ability to see things from an abstract point of view and to be able to connect them together to make a purposeful union. If I see a product, and I know there is a use for it, then all I have to do is find the potential audience and the rest falls into place! The trick is to identify these "touch-points" and then determine how, when and where to deliver this product introduction to that audience.

 

It just takes a little ingenuity, a lot of dedication, incredible patience, a thick skin, the ability to accept rejection, many sleepless nights and an overall persistent approach towards all aspects of the equation, while all of the time knowing that people around you are deeply concerned for your mental well-being!

 

Here's the secret to success:

Make it a POSITIVE connection for ALL touch-points! If each connection benefits, then all will win! And people will be less apt to have you committed.

 

Here's the exercise:

Take any item, pick one and call it "A" (person place or thing)

Now add another item, let's call it "B" (person place or thing)

And now lets add a third and call it..."C" (person place or thing)

Now what do they have in common? This is a definite "connection!"

How do they differ? This is another "connection."

Which one NEEDS something from another? Another "connection"

What is the VALUE of what each can provide for the other?...do you see a pattern?

Now start to bridge these connections so that all benefit in a way that suits each of their needs and you are WELL on the way to a creative solution!

 

You can't just do this once and say you are done, you must continue this process indefinitely for this to achieve good results!

 

Some short-term goals may be easily met, but you must also look at long-term goals as well. The longer term the goal, the more effort and connections you will need. (This is achieved by being respectful and accountable for all of your actions with the best interest of all parties involved. That is called REPUTATION!) Never, EVER stop this part!

 

Mix in some dynamic visuals and some clever phrases and people will call you a GENIUS...but remember, that will be replaced with INSANE if you try to explain what you are doing!
